Innovation for wireless stress recording in long-time analyses
Short development and trial periods in mobile hydraulics and process plant engineering do not allow for up-front simulation, measuring and recording of all stress variants in a given system. This means that, e.g., extreme pressure and temperature values cannot be tested under operating conditions.
Event-driven acquisition of extreme values under real operating conditions
In order to provide our customers with enhanced safety for operating hydraulic systems our development engineers have developed an analytical tool for wireless stress acquisition in long-time analyses. The tool measures extreme pressure and temperature values occurring under operating conditions in an event-driven manner, i.e. upon occurrence of undesired peak values in a measuring module. A reading unit provides for wireless communication between measuring module and PC or notebook.Acquired values can be read out and assessed at any time. In addition, the pertaining application-specific software for measuring unit and computer was developed in our company based on a high level of familiarity with practical operations.
The system is battery-supported and can collect data for a lengthy period. Data transfer is possible by placing the elements of the measuring systems close to each other, direct contact is not required.
Easy handling and simple installation
One specific advantage of this measuring system is its easy handling: It is simply inserted into a fluid line. Installation adapters can be supplied for other ports than G1/4“ threads. Hence, the measuring system is interesting for many applications, e.g. for mobile hydraulic systems and plants operating without voltage and only with hydraulics.
The reading unit is connected to the computer USB port for data transfer. The exact specification of the measuring function can be made to customer requests; software resulting from the specific requirements can be uploaded to the measuring module.
Variety of applications
Standard task of the measuring systems is monitoring of limit values. Data is saved as long as a given limit value is exceeded to ensure that also rare and short-time events are acquired over a longer period.
Another advantage: Time assignment of events provides for accurate analysis of accompanying circumstances of the measuring situation and thus of potential sources of errors.
Beside numerous other applications the measuring system can also be used as an operating hours counter. We will develop the necessary software for the measuring unit when measuring tasks are modified.
