A new super flexible suction hose “17G” was developed by us. Best laying compatibility, even in difficult installation situations, is reached by a up to 56% smaller bending radius in comparison to the already very flexible “Xanten suction hose”, depending on the nominal diameter.
Because of a special material selection and some modifications in theconstruction, the new suction hose has a very high flexibility.
The hydraulic is still very important at the mobile machines. It has aclear advantage with its high capability. Due to the advancement, it ispossible to control and adjust very precisely. So it is not surprising that the number of hydraulic systems in machines grows continuously.
Thus there are higher requirements to the construction. Enlarging fluid volumes has to be moved in less time. Due to the laws of streaming, here are bigger linesystems needed, to eliminate the danger of cavitation.
But the customer asks for more compact systems. That means that the available space cannot grow with the enlargement of the piping systems. To deal with this problem a piping could optimise the constructed space, but it is complex in assembling, thus expensive, and cannot handle well with production tolerances.
Hose lines are the ideal solution to solve this problem - they are assembled fastand balance little deviations really easily. They also can reduce vibrationsalong the line.
Unhappily the minimum bending radius is so big (of the suctionhoses, which are on the market, especially the bigger nominal sizes), that their application is often not possible due to the little space.
We have developed a new suction hose, which is produced according to the standard SAE 100-R4. By a special material selection and some little modifications in the construction, an exceeding flexibility could be reached. So never reached minimum bending radiiare possible.
A comparison of the nominal sizes show the differences:
Nominal size DN[mm] | Min. bending | Min. bending radius | Min. bending radius |
51 | 300 | 135 | 90 |
102 | 610 | 350 | 170 |
There are very new possibilities of laying the hose, especially with the
bigger nominal sizes. In comparison to the suction hose "Xanten",
which is already very flexible, the bending radius is up to 56% smaller,
depending on the nominal size.
The high flexibility also leads to a very good absorption of the vibrations,
so a decoupled arrangement of the connected components is accomplished.
A further advantage of the new hose is the smooth cover, so the liability
to dirt is smaller than with a ribbed cover structure.
The suction hose "17G" is available in nominal sizes ND 20 to ND 152 in the standard sizes but there are also some sizes in between, e.g. ND 35, ND42 or ND 63, which are available on request.
Its improved characteristics needed the development of special fittings for the insert. So fittings for crimping and clamp assembling were developed.
All variants were tested in vacuum, bursting pressure and dynamic pressure tests. A save stability of the fittings is guaranteed. The hose can also be used in the low pressure range, e.g. as a reflux line, due to the tested fittings and because it is able to hold up to 10 bar (depending on thenominal size).
The experience, which were made during the development of the fittings for the 17G, also influence the process of the construction of special fittings.
So it is possible to produce fittings which suit the problems of the customer and have a reliable connection with the hose.
Conclusion:
Extremely small bending radii are possible
Save connection is guaranteed by tests
Very good absorption characteristics
